OK, so I was getting ready for work today and had on CMT when Sara Evan's song "You'll Always Be My Baby" came on. Now I will swear to you that God used this video to speak a message of unconditional love and acceptance to me.
While I know that this song is running its way through my head right now, I should probably fill you all in on the lyrics so that you can understand the message I am talking about.
The first two verses talk about how she has let her physical father and spiritual Father down and how each of them accept her back and shower her with love. This verse explains just how God accepts us back each time that we repent and acknowledge that we have fallen short of the Glory he has in store for us.
But the final verse is the one that speaks the loudest to me. The last verse talks about how all she wants to do is to be that same forgiving figure in her child's life that her father was to her. But God told me to take this even further and that it meant we are to provide the same forgiveness and acceptance to others that he has provided to us.
I know this is a pretty common Church sermon message, but I thought it was incredible that God used a Country Music Video that lasted all of 4 minutes to wrap my mind around this topic for most of the day. Glory to Him for He is Worthy!
